Why would a power company want you to save your energy dollars?
Its simple, really.
First, we're a public power district -- owned by the customers we serve. No one is out to make a profit so shareholders can benefit. Our job is to help customers make decisions about heating, cooling, lighting, surge suppression and economic development programs. We don't sell heat pumps, furnaces or water heaters -- we help you understand the energy ratings so you can choose the most efficient model.
Second, it just makes good sense to use our energy resources wisely. Its part economics and part environmentalism. If we conserve electricity, our power provider can delay the construction of new power generation resources. We can also minimize the impact these generators have on our beautiful Nebraska countryside.
