We love trees... well, at least we love trees that are planted away from power lines. Trees that grow into power lines can cause blinks and outages. They also pose a safety hazard to the public because a tree in the line can conduct electricity. In addition, these trees can create "line losses" that have to be incorporated into everyone's electric rates.
The photos on the left are a before and after of work near Gothenburg, Nebraska. We were glad to work with the property owner to get the trees cleared.
If you chose to plant a tree, please read the label to determine the mature height and width of the tree. Plant far enough away from power lines so that it won't cause future problems.
